Component: Sharing of project methods

v14 Mac

This does not seem to be working. I want to access a method ( a
function)
in the host database from a component.

I set the Shared by components and host database property in the Method
Properties dialog box of the project method on the host database, but
it
cannot be used in the component.

I quote:

The effect of this option is defined by the context of the database
use: if
the database is used as a component, the method will be accessible in
the
host database and visible in the Explorer. If the database is a host
database, the method will be usable by the components.

Are you using EXECUTE METHOD to call it ?

If you have: "Shared by components and host" checked, calling a host
method from a component using EXECUTE METHOD works.

If you don't have: "Shared by components and host" checked, calling a
host method from a component using EXECUTE METHOD doesn't work.

Either way, I don't think you can ever call a host method directly
from a component (because then it wouldn't be a component, would it.
It would simply be part of the host :) ¬=A0)
